IP has really enabled certain technologies that could mean a lot in the times of recession for enterprises as well as the individuals. The basic one could be a voice call. Definitely, companies would like to cut communication costs but not the communication. So even those who were reluctant about IP will think of it now and could perhaps be trying it. This will only result in more deployments. For the vendors and service providers, the challenge would be designing plans that are based on variable costing as companies would like to see their communications cost in line with the business volumes.
